Views of farming

I recently let my subscription to Foreign Policy magazine lapse, albeit reluctantly.  I’ve always found the publication’s articles quite thought provoking.  They’ve forced me to challenge my thinking of everything from renewable energy to local food.  But it’s the photo essays in FP that have always grabbed me the most, perhaps because of their ability to give me a view of the world I would never see otherwise.

I particularly like this slide show called “An Ode to Farming,” which shows images of agriculture around the world.  Being from Kansas, a farming state if there ever was one, and having a leisurely interest in gardening, it’s really stunning to me to see how different farming looks across the world.

Note: I’ve posted a non-photo essay view of a wind farm Sarah and I had while crossing into Lincoln County a few months ago.
